According to Leading Internet Search Report, Search Engine Watch, Netscape Search Delivers 100% Relevant Results in Rigorous Company Names Test
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (Sept. 22, 1999) – Netscape Communications, a subsidiary of America Online Inc. (NYSE: AOL), today announced that its new Internet search service Netscape Search (search.netscape.com), ranked first in a recent test conducted by a leading online search industry publication. Performed by "Search Engine Watch," the test examined the ability of Internet search services to deliver relevant results for searches on company names. The Netscape Search service powered by Netscape’s Open Directory combined with Netscape’s Smart Browsing service outperformed all other directory search offerings in delivering relevant results quickly and easily.
