Google Integrates Internet Keywords into Award-Winning Search Destination Site

SAN CARLOS, Calif. and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – December 15, 1999 – RealNames Corporation, creators of the Internet Keyword Web addressing and navigation service, and Google Inc., one of the fastest growing search companies on the World Wide Web, today announced a relationship that will give Google users an additional source of information for locating specific information on the Internet. Under the terms of the agreement, Google will offer Internet Keyword functionality through its own destination site at (Internet Keyword: Google). The RealNames distribution network also includes other leading search engines, browsers, portals and directory services.

RealNames Internet Keywords are intuitive, familiar names that take the user directly to the relevant web page associated with the Internet Keyword. To use Internet Keywords in Google, users simply type a company, product or brand name into the search box on Google’s homepage; if an Internet Keyword is available it will appear at the top of the search results list. The user simply clicks on that Internet Keyword to go directly to the web page for the information they are looking for. For example, web users looking to navigate to the Jeep Grand Cherokee page on the Jeep website can simply use the Internet Keyword: "Jeep Grand Cherokee" rather than the lengthy Web address
