Google Partners with Fujitsu’s NIFTY Corp.

Japan’s Largest ISP Provides Direct Access to Google Search Engine

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – April 16, 2001 – Google Inc., developer of the award-winning Google search engine, today announced a partnership with NIFTY Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited. Millions of users of both the @nifty Internet access service and the popular @nifty website now have immediate access to Google’s comprehensive and easy-to-use search engine.

@nifty, the largest Internet access provider in Japan, offers 4.6 million subscribers and general Internet users a number of web-based services including community and e-commerce sites, and more than 200,000 homepage services. @nifty also offers a search portal, branded @search. Available now at, @search now provides direct access to the Google search engine. This fast and easy-to-use service enables users to quickly search and browse the Internet’s largest search engine.
