Industry Leaders Adopt Google Corporate Search Products

Boeing, Cisco,, National Semiconductor, Sur La Table, and University of Florida use Google Search Appliance to Connect Customers and Employees with Products and Information

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – June 17, 2002 – Google Inc., today announced that leading aerospace, technology, broadcasting, retail and educational institutions have adopted the Google Search Appliance to enable employees and customers to find products and information within corporate intranets and websites. The growing list of Google Search Appliance customers includes The Boeing Company, Cisco Systems,, National Semiconductor Corp., Sur La Table, the University of Florida and others.

The Google Search Appliance is an integrated hardware/software solution that extends the power of to corporate intranets and web servers. Below are examples of how National Semiconductor and others have quickly deployed the Google Search Appliance.

  • National Semiconductor, a leader in the microelectronic circuits industry, uses the Google Search Appliance to power its global intranet search services, providing employees with immediate access to a wide range of information, including engineering design, marketing, and corporate planning documents.
  • The University of Florida purchased the Google Search Appliance to power search services for its website, enabling students, faculty, staff and others to quickly find course curricula, research and other school information.
